Keenly confronting the enigmas that surround us, this work shares suggestions of infinite patterns in humanity and social identities that shape worldviews. Jessey has taken inspiration from Dutch wax prints also known as African wax prints and there influence of non-verbal communication.
Collection: MyPOP (My Print on Poverty) investigates topics of popular culture and social mobility. The paintings are coated with a malleable texture of wax, representing changing circumstances and preservation. The use of distressed collage is integrated for the purpose of storytelling, cross cultural symbolism and to represent the obstacles, barriers and erosion of resources.
